“I’ve Got Your Six”: Why I’m Pursuing My Veteran Realtor® Certification
If you’ve followed my journey for a while, you know that I’ve always believed home is where your story begins. To me, that truth runs deeper than real estate, it’s spiritual. Home represents more than walls and a roof; it’s where families gather, prayers are lifted, and God’s blessings take root. It’s where our stories intertwine with His purpose.
While I’ve only been a Realtor® since January 2025, serving others has been part of my story for as long as I can remember. Before entering real estate, I spent over 20 years with Walmart and 3 years with The Home Depot in various leadership roles. Those experiences taught me patience, humility, and what it truly means to lead by example, to put others before yourself. Looking back, I can see how God used those seasons to prepare me for this one.
Whether managing a large team or guiding a first-time homebuyer, my calling has always been to serve with integrity and compassion. I’ve learned that when you lead with a servant’s heart, you not only meet needs, you make a difference. Each role I’ve held, from the military to corporate management, has been another way God has shaped me into who I am today.
As a veteran, I know firsthand what it means to live with purpose and discipline. Military life builds character, resilience, and loyalty, values that never fade once you hang up the uniform. And though the missions change, the heart to serve remains the same. That’s why helping veterans find a place to call home feels less like a job and more like a continuation of the mission God placed on my life.
During my recent review with my managing brokers, Jim and Melissa, they encouraged me to pursue a niche that reflects both my professional skills and my personal passion. Their suggestion to seek out Veteran Realtor® Certification felt like divine confirmation. It was the nudge I needed to step forward in faith and align my business with the people God’s called me to serve.
This certification is more than a credential, it’s an act of stewardship. I want to use the gifts and experiences God has given me to walk beside other veterans as they search for a home where their next chapter begins. My goal isn’t just to close deals, but to open doors, doors to stability, peace, and hope.
Too often, veterans face challenges navigating the home-buying process, especially with VA loans and financial barriers. My mission is to make sure they’re never walking that road alone. I want every veteran to know they have someone in their corner who understands the process, their sacrifice, and their worth in the eyes of both their community and their Creator.
When I say, “I’ve got your six,” it’s not just a military phrase, it’s a promise. It means I’m here to protect, support, and stand beside those who’ve served. And in my heart, it also echoes Christ’s example of love and service: “Greater love has no one than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” (John 15:13)
Becoming a certified Veteran Realtor® isn’t just another chapter in my career, it’s part of my ministry. The battlefield may look different now, but the mission remains: serve faithfully, lead with compassion, and ensure no one is left behind. Because when a veteran holds the keys to their new home, it’s more than a transaction, it’s a moment of grace, gratitude, and victory.
So as I continue this journey, I’m reminded that every home sold is another story beginning, and every story is another opportunity to give glory to God. To every veteran out there: whether you’re buying, selling, or simply searching for direction, know this, I’ve got your six. Because when it comes to finding home, both on earth and in faith, you deserve someone who walks beside you with purpose and heart.
“Home is where your story begins — and every story is part of God’s plan.”
