Facing Your Giants
Facing Your
Giants: Lessons from the Life of David
The reason I started this blog was to share my journey—from
my time in high school to my transition into real estate—and how my faith in
God has shaped my path. I am where I am today only because of His guidance and
grace.
My family and I began attending Radiant Church in Bay City a
few years ago, and we have been blessed to grow in our faith in a church that
truly aligns with our beliefs. We’ve heard many sermons throughout the years,
but none have impacted me quite like our recent series on the life of David.
While I’ve heard David’s story many times, Pastor Marco has a way of bringing
it to life, making it feel personal and relevant.
Facing Giants in Life and Business
We all face giants—challenges that seem too big to overcome.
In his sermon, Pastor Marco shared three common giants we encounter: Fear,
Insecurity, and Discouragement.
- Fear—Fear
of failure, fear of the unknown, fear of taking a leap of faith.
- Insecurity—Feeling
like you’re not good enough, not qualified, or lacking what it takes.
- Discouragement—Believing
that things will never change or that success is out of reach.
These giants aren’t just spiritual battles; they show up in
everyday life—including business. In real estate, I see this often: buyers
afraid of making the wrong decision, and sellers insecure about whether their
home will sell. But just like David stepping onto the battlefield to face
Goliath, the key isn’t to avoid the challenge—it’s to trust God and move
forward in faith.
Identifying Your Giants
Giants come in many forms:
In daily life:
- A
family grieving the loss of a loved one.
- A
major illness
- Losing
a job.
- Even wanting
to make friends.
In Real Estate:
- A
first-time homebuyer overwhelmed by the process.
- A
seller worried that their house won’t sell in a changing market.
- An
investor hesitant to take the next step.
But just as David trusted God in the face of Goliath, we,
too, must trust that God has a plan—even in uncertainty. He never calls us to
fight our battles alone.
Faith, Trust, and Action
Faith doesn’t mean standing still; it means stepping forward
with confidence. Whether in life or business, trust that God has already made a
way for you. When fear and doubt creep in, remind yourself of what He has
already done. His faithfulness in the past fuels our hope for the future.
And just like David didn’t wait for Goliath to make the
first move—he ran toward him—we, too, must face our giants head-on. Fear,
insecurity, and discouragement only win when we give up.
I cannot take credit for this week’s blog; these are the
powerful words of Pastor Marco. But they resonated so deeply with me that I
felt compelled to share them. Thank you to Radiant Church and Pastor Marco for
the wisdom and encouragement. And most of all, thank you, Father God, for the
daily blessings You provide.
If you’re facing a giant—whether in life, business, or real
estate—know that you are not alone. Keep moving forward in faith.
